PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a running guidance apparatus by which a vehicle can be run safely by a method wherein a congested place is recognized, the avoidance route of the congested place is set and the avoidance route and the congested place are displayed. SOLUTION: A control circuit 1 sets a running route to a destination on the basis of data from a present-position recognition device 6, it reads out data on a map from a CD-ROM 11 which is mounted on a CD player 8, and the data is stored once in a RAM 4. Then, on the basis of the data stored in the RAM 4, a map which corresponds to a present position is created. In addition, video data in which the present position is overlapped with a running track is created so as to be output to a display control circuit 15, and the display control circuit 15 displays the video data on a display 16. The control circuit 1 stores a road network, and a congested place is recognized in a congested direction between the place and a crossing on the basis of received traffic information. Then, a bypass is retrieved as far as possible so as to be displayed on a screen, and a running operation is guided. In addition, congestion information and the bypass are displayed simultaneously on one screen. |
