PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety and cycle characteristics even at high energy density by limiting quantities of Ni, Co, Mn and Al within the ranges of predetermined numeric values in Li.Ni.Co.Mn.Al composite oxide. SOLUTION: In LiNi1-x-y-z Cox Mny Alz O2 , 0.15<=x<=0.25 and 0<z<=0.15 when y=0. Alternatively, 0<=x<=0.25, 0<z<=0.15 and x+y<=0.4 when 0<y<=0.3. Quantities of Ni, CO, Mn and Al are limited within 0<=x<=0.25, 0<=y<=0.3, 0<z<=0.15 and x+y<=0.4. In a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2, a separator 3 and an electrolyte are housed inside a square battery jar. |
