PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device to prevent outflow of oil through a breather and perform sufficient lubrication regardless of the position of an engagement part between a pinion gear and a ring gear. SOLUTION: A shield plate 17 consisting of an annular press-in part 18 and a spiral part 19 having an orifice 20 is engaged with the outer peripheral part of the back of the tooth part 3a of a ring gear 3 engaged with a pinion gear 10 arranged inside a differential carrier 2. During rotation of the ring gear 3, the spiral part 19 of the shield plate 17 is filled with oil 13 stored in the oil reservoir 14 of the differential carrier 2 and during rotation, the oil 13 is fed to the ring gear 3 through the orifice 20 of the spiral part 19 to lubricate an engagement part 16 between the pinion hear 10 and the ring gear 3. Thus, the shield plate 17 prevents outflow of the oil 13 through a breather 15. |
