PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reading device and a method of a storage device whereby desired data is always read from the storage device by an error retry function even when a reading error occurs by cyclic disturbance. SOLUTION: CPU 11 of a mainbody 1 reads performs access to a floppy disk device 4, reads designated data and transfers it to a memory 12. At this time, CPU 11 detects whether or not a transfer error (same as the reading error) occurs, waits for a period obtained by multiplying a random number value generated at this time by two seconds when the transfer error occurs so as to access to the floppy disk device 4 again and reads prescribed data. Therefore, the timing of the error retry as against the floppy disk device 4 becomes different at every time so that it is evaded that the retry execution cycle of CPU is synchronized with the transfer error which occurs by cyclic disturbance. |
