PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunable laser the structure of which allows increase in product yield. SOLUTION: A tunable laser is provided with a non-linear optical material 4 as a wavelength changing element in a laser resonator 5, and uses one of the light transmitting faces 4b of the non-linear optical material 4 as an output mirror for the laser resonator 5. The face 4b of the non-linear optical material 4 to be the output mirror is positioned outside the laser resonator 4 to form a convex spherical surface. The radius of curvature of the convex spherical surface is set in a predetermined range so that there is always such an adjustment range where both the phase matching conditions and the resonating conditions of the laser resonator 5 will be simultaneously met. |
