摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steel plate improving friction coefficient by specifying the irradiating condition of laser beam, at the time of manufacturing the steel for friction joining by forming groove shapes on the steel with a laser beam gouging. SOLUTION: At the time of periodically forming the groove shapes with the laser beam gouging method, a condense optical system having 1-50F value is used and the laser beam is condensed so that the spot diameter (d) becomes 0.5-3mm on the surface of a blank to be machined. The steel is irradiated with the laser beam satisfying 5-500J/mm line irradiating output Q and 5d<2> <=Q<=100d<2> . A nozzle satisfying d<=d1 <=20d in the nozzle diameter d1 in width direction of the groove to the spot diameter (d) of the laser beam and 0.3d<=d2 <=10d of the nozzle diameter d2 in the right angle direction of the groove width to the spot diameter (d) is used. Further the nozzle is inclined at 3-85 deg. to the machining progressing direction and assist gas from the nozzle is blown to the laser beam irradiating part to periodically form the grooves on the steel plate.
