SOLUTION: A customizable memory 10 comprises memory cells 12 of the same type and customizable memory cell connections 14 which enable the same memory cells 12 to function selectively as RAMs or ROMs. A customizable memory comprises memory cells 12 of the same type and customizable memory cell connections which enable the memory cells of the same type to operate through the intermediary of selective ports. A customizable gate array device includes a customizable memory cell connection which enables memory cells of the same type to function selectively as RAMs or ROMs.
