<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high picture quality, high reliability and low power consumption capable of storing halftone image information in respective pixels. SOLUTION: After the image information is written in, a switch 10 is made on state, and terminals B, C are made ground potential. An AC voltage symmetrical around the ground potential is applied to the terminal A. The voltage is divided by a liquid crystal layer 2 and parallel connected memory elements 6. The parallel structure of the memory elements 6 is provided with a C-V characteristic symmetrical around the ground potential. Then, the voltage change in the terminal E is synunetrical also. Thus, the divided AC voltage is applied to the liquid crystal layer 2.</p> |
