PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject food containing a comfrey extract, having safety because the food is composed of natural substances, free from side actions and enabling effective prevention and treatment of allergic symptom. SOLUTION: This food contains a comfrey extract in an amount of preferably 1-10wt.%. The food is preferably further incorporated with 10-50wt.% of oil and fat. The oil and fat are preferably perilla oil, beefsteak plant oil, etc., containing α-linolenic acid, borage oil, evening primrose oil, etc., containing γ-linolenic acid, refined fish oil, etc., containing docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, etc. The daily administration rate of the objective food is preferably 2,000-3,000mg for adult in terms of the comfrey extract. The comfrey extract can be produced e.g. by crushing the fruit, leaf, etc., of comfrey, extracting with a solvent such as water or ethanol and heating the extracted liquid under reduced pressure to remove the solvent. |
