PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic and preventing agent for late cataract by using a specific substance capable of inhibiting the bonding of a crystalline lens epithelial cell or further a release controlling substance in combination. SOLUTION: This anti-late cataract agent uses a nonpolypeptidic cell adhesion inhibitor. A 2-piperazinone derivative of the formula [G is aminidino or amino; D is a hetero-atom and/or a spacer of 2-6 atomic chain which may intermediate through a 5- or a 6-membered ring; R<1> is H, benzyl or an alkyl; R<2> and R<3> are each a residue obtained by removing CH(NH2 )COOH from anα-amino acid or R<1> and R<2> , together with the adjacent N or C, may form a 5- to a 6-membered ring; X is H or an alkyl; Z is a group, etc., capable of forming an anionl or its salt [(S)-4-(4amidinobenzoylglycine)3-benzyl-2oxopiperazine-1- acetic acid is especially preferred]. A release controlling agent is further preferably used in combination with the preventing agent. An in vivo degradable high polymeric substance is preferred as the release controlling substance (a lactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer is especially preferred).
