PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayered sheet detector which can be used for a system possibly provided with sheets of different sizes. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a pair of cooperative rollers 42 and 44 and includes a mechanism the amplitude of which generates an output voltage varied corresponding to the passage of a bank note, etc. between the rollers 42 and 44 to detect the passage of overlapped sheets like deposited bank notes, e.g. At this time, the sample of the output voltage is taken while one of the rollers 42 and 44 is rotated perfectly once.
