PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser displacement meter capable of correcting an optical distortion of a lens and of executing measurement with high accuracy by a method wherein an output from a line sensor camera is corrected by each position of a pixel based on a correction value in a correction table. SOLUTION:ΔN as a correction value for removing an optical distortion of a lens is obtained beforehand to be stored in a correction table corresponding to each pixel position N of a line sensor camera. The correction valueΔN corresponding to each pixel position N in the correction table is added to an actually measured value Nm to form a theoretical value Nt (=ΔN+Nm). The theoretical value Nt as a pixel address N is inputted to an equation, then tanθm can be accurately obtained by removing the optical distortion of the lens. The tanθm is inputted to two equations to remove the optical distortion of the lens, thereby passibly obtaining an accurate slit optical coordinates (Xs, Ys).
