PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bonding sheet having an inexpensive optical function which are capable of exhibiting optical function such as phase difference compensation without complicating the constitution and manufacturing process in an optical device such as a liquid crystal display device and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The bonding sheet has the optical function attained by providing at least one surface of base materials 24a, 25a consisting of a synthetic resin, etc., with adhesive layers 24b, 25b. The manufacturing method thereof has a stage for executing orientation treatment by applying an adhesive contg. a material having the liquid crystalizing property after the bonding sheets 24, 25, whose adhesive layers 24b, 25b contain a material having the liquid crystalizing property, and the base material 24a, 25a are oriented by rubbing, or by impressing the electric field or magnetic field at the liquid crystal manifestation temperature or higher of a material having the liquid crystalizing property when heating and drying after the adhesive contg. the material having the liquid crystalizing property is applied. |
