The present invention relates to an optical bus transmission method wherein each terminal connected to an optical bus produces a narrow pulse synchronized with the rise of a leading pulse of a second one of first and second Manchester-biphase digital electric signals, a narrow pulse synchronized with the rise of each pulse of the first digital electric signal and a narrow pulse occurring every fixed period of time during the duration of each pulse. The method is comprised of a step wherein the narrow pulses are converted into optical signals and transmitted as an optical pulse train to the optical bus, and a step wherein each terminal converts an optical pulse received from the optical bus into an electric pulse signal. The method further includes a step wherein the electric signal is separated into its leading pulse and subsequent pulses. Each of the subsequent pulses is converted into a pulse of a pulse width equal to the fixed period of time to regenerate the first digital electric signal and the second digital electric signal is regenerated from a polarity-inverted version of the regenerated first digital electric signal and the leading pulse.
