PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate at least the part of the output gradation adjusting work of an image output device. SOLUTION: Data for test image is corrected in accordance with an initial gradation correction curve and a test image is formed based on the image data after this correction (S1, S2). Reading data is acquired by reading the test image by a scanner (S3). Based on this reading data, data for new test image is prepared. Based on this prepared data for test image, a test image is formed once again (S14, S5). By reading the test image formed this second time by the scanner, reading data is acquired (S6). Based on the reading data acquired by the readings of the test images of twice, the initial gradation correction curve and a prescribed reference output curve, candidate point data is determined (S7). Based on this candidate point data, a gradation correction curve is prepared and set (S8, S9). |
