PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic sensitive material for use in a light room having photographic characteristics high enough in contrast even in the case of processing with a developing solution of a pH<11.0, and high practicable sensitivity and handleability in the light room for a long time, and preventing fluctuation of sensitivity even left at a high temperature and a high humidity. SOLUTION: This photographic sensitive material has, on a support, at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least 90mol% silver chloride and a water-soluble rhodium salt in an amount of 1×10<-6> -2×10<-4> mol per 1mol of silver halide and having an average grain size of <1μm, and this emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a hydrazine compound and a nucleator promoter and a compound represented by the formula in which X is a substituent having a Hammett's substituent constantσP of +0.15-+0.70.
