PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device capable of stably and more correctly indicating residual capacity of a battery. SOLUTION: A control part 109 periodically measures the battery voltage by a battery voltage measuring part 108 in a normal use of a portable electronic equipment, and updates the measured value of a storage part 110 only when the presently measured value is smaller than the previous measured value kept in the storage part 110. During the charging, the battery voltage is periodically measured by the battery voltage measuring part 108, and the measured value of the storage part 110 is updated only when the presently measured value is larger than the previously measured value kept in the storage part 110, and the residual capacity of a battery 5 is indicated based on the updated measured value in the storage part 110.
