PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the overhead at data transfer time and improve the performance of the information processing system, constituted by connecting plural clusters including plural arithmetic processors by a crossbar network, by a broadcasting function which enables an arithmetic processor in one cluster to transfer data to all other clusters with a single instruction. SOLUTION: If one of arithmetic processors 21-2N issues a broadcast instruction, it is received by a data transfer device 5 through a local network 4. When an instruction decoding means 51 knows that the received instruction is the broadcast instruction by deciphering, a common memory access means 53 reads transfer data out of a common memory 3 through the local network 4 in response to the indication of a transfer control means 52 and transfers it to a data transfer means 54. The data transfer means 54 holds the data in a data holding means 541 and transfers the data to all other clusters in order. |
