An infrared transmitter (12) is installed on an upper edge of the monitor housing (11) which is rotatable w.r.t. the keyboard housing. The rotation enables the transmitter to be directed towards the infrared receiver (21) on a peripheral device, such as a printer (20), without difficulty, even if the computer (10) and peripheral device are standing on tables (30) of different height.
