PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate drop-outs and to obtain good characteristics even if upper and lower substrates are greatly misaligned by superposing the color filters on the second substrate on the color filters of another colors adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: The color filters 2 on the second substrate 1b are so formed as to overlap on the adjacent color filters 2 of another colors on each other in the overlap blocks 7 thereof. The projecting parts 8a produced by the overlaps of the color filters indicated by the step differences 8 in level produced by the overlaps of the color filters are created in these overlap parts. Since the adjacent color filters 2 of another colors overlap on each other, the color filters 2 of the adjacent two colors overlap on each other in the projecting parts 8a created by the overlap of the color filters and, therefore, the occurrence of the drop-outs is averted when viewing obliquely in the case the first and second substrates 1a, 1b are misaligned as shown in Fig. (b). |
