PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus for the degradation degree of an oil which uses the oil capable of being sampled easily by using an oil level gage or the like, by which the degradation degree of a plurality of kinds of oils can be measured in a short time without wasting any oil with good accuracy and with good efficiency, in which the oil after a measurement can be cleaned easily, and which is low-cost. SOLUTION: An upper-side member 6 can be displaced relatively between itself and a proximity position with reference to a lower-side member 5. In its separated position, a protruding part 11 at the upper-side member 6 is arranged at the outside of a recessed part 10 at the lower-side member 5. In its proximity position, an oil chamber 15 is formed between the protruding part 11 and the recessed part 10. The size in the up-and-down direction of the oil chamber 15 becomes a predetermined set valueδ. Light which is emitted by a light-emitting element 2 is transmitted through an oil 40 inside the oil chamber 15 along the up-and-down direction.
