PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a independent word deciding method which can easily decide an independent word in an unregistered character string which is not registered in a dictionary wherein notations etc., are registered from an input character string. SOLUTION: An unregistered character string detection part 1 detects an unregistered character string from the inputted character string by using the independent word dictionary 6 wherein notations, grammatical information, etc., are stored as to independent words, and an adjacent detection part 2 separate adjacents from the unregistered character string detected by the unregistered character string detection part 1 by using an adjacent dictionary 5 wherein notations and grammatical information regarding adjacents are stored to detect one or plural candidates for the independent word. A priority calculation part 3 calculates priority as to the respective independent word candidates detected by the adjacent detection part 2 according to grammatical information on words behind the unregistered character string by using the independent word dictionary 6 and a candidate generation part 4 decides and segments the character string as independent words in order from the independent word candidate having top priority detected by the adjacent detection part 2 according to the priority calculated by the priority calculation part 3. |
