PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform desired connection work after detecting the position of a socket by user by performing signal supply to the socket side of a patch panel immediately before connecting terminals and generating sound from a socket to be connected thereby selecting and sounding a socket to be connected by the socket managing side. SOLUTION: In a connecting and controlling method for socket to be utilized by information wiring system, a socket 20 comprises an oscillating circuit 21 capable of generating beep sound, a small speaker 22, a detecting circuit 23 which detects an Ethernet signal from HUB and turns on a transmitting circuit 21 and RJ-45 type socket 24. Here, in response to user's request, a person in charge of the management connects a vacant port of the primary side 11 (HUB side) of a batch panel 10 to a second side 12 (socket side) at a proper place with a batch cord, thereby supplying Ethernet signal to a particular socket 20 and generating sound. Then, this sound is stopped when the user connects the terminal to the socket 20 and a contact S is opened. |
