PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the handling performance of a machine translation device by storing a text as a file and translating the text described in a language corresponding to a selected text icon when the correspondence is secured between the text icon and a translation icon. SOLUTION: A RAM 50 includes an area 51 which stores a Japanese word text as a file, an area 52 which stores the translated English sentences, an area 53 which stores the positions of icons displayed on a display device 30, etc. Then the Japanese sentence text inputted by an input device 20 is stored in an input buffer 54, and the correspondence is secured between the text stored in the area 51 and a translation processing program 41 via a correspondence table 55. An icon selection program 42 of a ROM 40 selects the icons displayed on the device 30. Then the program 41 automatically translates the Japanese sentences stored in the area 51 when the correspondence is secured by an icon movement program 43 between a selected text icon and a translation icon. |
