PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a indication device which is constructed light and small and can work stably even with occurrence of drop or impact application. SOLUTION: A liquid 7 and a beam splitter 8 are installed on an optical path in the vertical direction reflected downward by a prism 4, and LD light is refracted by the liquid 7 and does not take heading in the plumb direction in case a laser level gauge head 1 is inclined relative to the level. A light receiving sensor 9 has four light receiving surfaces A, B, C, D divided by 2×2. Because the LD light is dislocated when the laser level gauge head 1 is inclined to the surfaces A, B, C, D, an X-axis motor 17 and a Y-axis motor 18 are driven by a signal processing circuit 16 so that the condition A=B=C=D is established, and thereby automatic adjustment is made so that the vertical direction optical axis of the laser level gauge head 1 becomes plumb.
