PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively display many candidate data with high efficiency in a display area by showing these candidate data with no division of them, showing the range of every candidate data and also showing a corresponding candidate data selection means. SOLUTION: A display device shows plural candidate data based on each prescribed input operation. A character display part 6 of the display device shows the candidate data in parallel to each other and with no division of them. Plural selection keys 4 are placed in the display direction of the part 6 to select one of those candidate data respectively. Then a range display part 7 is added between the part 6 and the keys 4 to show the range of every candidate data shown at the part 6 and also to show the key 4 corresponding to every candidate data. Thus it is possible to eliminate such a defective case where the candidate data that can be shown in an amount equal to the numeric characters or blanks are decreased when these characters or blanks are used for the division display of the candidate data. As a result, many candidate data can be displayed with high efficiency.
