PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a compact and portable code reader provided with a power supply to be easily carried. SOLUTION: A ring-like illumination substrate 24 is arranged on the periphery of a lines frame 22 for supporting an optical system (lens) 14 in a shaft cylinder tip part 12 in the code reader. Plural illuminating LEDs for illuminating a code pattern optically readably recorded in a recording medium with light are mounted on the same circle of the substrate 24 at a prescribed interval. A cylindrical illumination reflecting member 30 is arranged on the periphery of the substrate 24 which is outer than the LEDs 18. In the arrangement, at least two members out of the lens frame 22, the substrate 24 and the member 30 are integrally molded. |
