摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or prevent aerodynamic instability caused by a triangular or half-moon shaped accretion of snow by attaching a ring to overhead power transmission line with a predetermined angle of slant with a reference line in a vertical direction orthogonal to the shaft center. SOLUTION: An overhead electric wire 1 made by twisting a plurality of strands is equipped with galloping prevention ring 2 with an angleθrelative to a reference line in vertical line orthogonal to a shaft center 1a of the overhead power transmission line 1. The galloping prevention ring 2 is made in reverse direction of the twisting direction of the transmission line 1. When snow falls, snow is accumulated even on the top of the galloping prevention ring 2. But the galloping prevention ring is attached with an angle of slant, so that accumulated snow is stopped by the ring 2 and snow is pushed from the upper side and falls to the ground after riding the ring 2. As a result, even there is triangular-shaped snow on the line, the aerodynamic instability can be reduced or prevented.</p>
