PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORDING MATERIAL AND ITS RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording material having proper ink absorbing property and basic performance as paper for ink jet printing on the rear side by using a specified SiO2 and a specified PVA. SOLUTION: This recording material has a layer having suitability to ink jet printing and contg. SiO2 whose particle diameter is preferably 2-10μm as a pigment and PVA whose average mol.wt. is preferably 20,000-100,000 as a binder. The surface electric resistance of the layer is preferably <=11 (log Ω), the surface roughness SRz is preferably 1.5-7.0μm and the layer preferably absorbs 4-16g/m<2> water. This recording material satisfies the basic performance of a photographic recording material, gives a high density clear image and can satisfy basic performance as paper for ink jet printing by a recording method by which ink jet printing is carried out after development.
