<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent antimicrobial property and antimold property without deteriorating magnetic characteristics or travelling characteristics by incorporating an inorg. antimicrobial agent into a magnetic recording layer or adjacent layers. SOLUTION: The inorg. antimicrobial agent is prepared by making a composite body of a metal and an inorg. material, and especially, a material prepared by depositing silver on an inorg. carrier is preferable. Since antimicrobial zeolite, antimicrobial glass, ultrafine inorg. antimicrobial agent or inorg. antimicrobial agent such as calcium phosphate-silver and metal soap of amino acids have excellent chemical resistance, washing durability, acid resistance, alkali resistance and solvent resistance, these are very useful as an antimicrobial agent for a magnetic recording medium which has a photographic layer on the opposite side to the magnetic recording layer and is developed after image exposure. Even when the medium is stored in a rolled state and the photographic layer is in contact with the magnetic recording layer, the agent has a permanent antimicrobial effect after development without giving bad influences on the photographic characteristics. This is convenient because any special antimicrobial treatment is not required.</p> |
