The baby incubation appts. has a fixed hood providing an incubation chamber (9) insulated from the atmosphere, and with air circulation facilities. A microprocessor (55) controls the second heat (37) of two heaters (47, 37), based on the chamber temp. of the incubation chamber, by the first temp. sensor and the water temp. data of the moistening container (15). The second heater then can be switched on, if the moistening container is held in a predetermined position in the second duct (21). The moistening container is provided with a heat resistant and/or hydrophobic covering, at least at its dam part (29). The lock section is controlled movable about a predetermined path, and this control is assigned to the second heater, in order that the present water temp. can be brought to a temp. prespecified in a table, and then if the container temp. gradually nears the predetermined container temp., the mixing ratio is reset to the standard ratio.
