Lift valve control gear

The gear (1) controls a valve (4) with a shaft (8) passing through a guide (14). It uses a cam operated drag lever (3) to produce a pressure along the guide, which is countered by a pretensioned spring (24). This spring is supported between one end of the shaft and the stationary base (33) of the valve. The drag lever grips around the shaft between the guide and the base. It is supported here by a pressure transmitting part (22) on the shaft.
