A process to automatically doff and insert a new spool, or changeover the supply reels on a two-for-one folding frame, employs a service robot which responds to a signal, then determines, subsequent to doffing, that sufficient supply yarn is available to thread up and wind on to a new spool. The appts. is also claimed.
