Articulated homokinetic drive ball-joint

The homokinetic articulated drive-joint transfers power along a shaft. The joint is held together at its centre by a ball-joint between bolts (2,3) each thrust towards the interface by a spring (9). The two facing halves of the ball joint (4) casing have a toothed crown (1), each interlocking with the other. The opposing end-faces of the crowns have straight radial crowns and matching troughs. From the opposing end-faces, the cogs translate in shape to their outer circumference, the crowns narrowing towards their base. The point at which the inner joint (4,6) bends is always in line with the angle between the touching cog faces.
