PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make correction for deterioration of the accuracy originating from the dispersion in the sensitivity of two sensors, the gain of the output stage, and the lightness of an optical system in an active type automatic focus adjustment AF which uses two sensor arrays. SOLUTION: The max. values SR and SL and minimum values of light reception images 35, 36 on a sensor output signal waveform corresponding to light reception images 31, 32 of two sensor arrays 5, 6 differ owing to their dispersion. The minimums of the two are normalized to zero level, and the maximum smaller SR is normalized to the other maximum SL which is greater, and their correlation is calculated to determined the distance from the object concerned whose distance is to be measured. Thereby correction can be conducted without storing any correction factor in a memory means. |
