The corneal grinder has a tool carrier (6) on the side facing the housing (2), a central mounting (18) for the eccentric section of the drive shaft (4), and a cylindrical rigid gripping part (9), detachably connected at the housing (2) between the housing and the tool carrier. The bending rods (14) of the tool carrier at held at the gripping part spaced at a distance to the housing. The rigid gripping part (9) for the forming of a gap (11), reaches up to the plate-shaped designed tool carrier. The bending rods are arranged within the rigid gripping part.
