A coupling unit comprises an internally-threaded coupling piece (20) on a rotary injector (1) and a complementary, externally-threaded coupling section (21) on a drilling drive (4); or vice versa. In this novel arrangement, A drive transmission bolt is passed through an effectively continuous bore (24; 25) through the coupling components (20, 21). This has no function concerning force and moment transmission in the assembled state; in fact the bore sections (25; 25) and/or the drive bolt (26) are designed to allow defined relative rotation between the two sections of the coupling (20, 21).
