Spontaneous ignition prevention of organics-loaded adsorbents

Prevention of the spontaneous ignition of used adsorption materials loaded with combustible organics is achieved by covering the material with a basic substance before or after the adsorptive loading. Also claimed is further processing of the used material by physical or chemical treatment or regeneration.
