Complete encapsulation of formerly-bare conductors in walls of insulating casing at low cost

The moulding of conductors into plastic parts is described. A set part of the bare conductor length is first lodged in the cavity of the open mould. The conductors are held mechanically at separated points. During injection they are encapsulated. Both prefixing and change-over clamping points are used. The clamps are pairs of plungers, converging onto the conductor. During injection a set of change-over plungers (15-17) close, and the conductor is encapsulated around them on all sides. Before the dwell pressure phase of the injection moulding process, prefixing plungers (12-14) retract, allowing injected compound to complete the encapsulation.
