One bag (5, 45) consisting of a material stable at low temperatures is suitable for the storage of erythrocytes at -196 DEG C and can accomodate the amount of hydroxyethyl starch (HES) necessary for the reuseability of the blood. The bag (5, 45) can be stored in the manner of a suspended file in a sliding framework (4) for cupboards for suspended-files (1) which are designed in the modular system. Cooling is achieved by coolant vapours which flow through the cupboard module (4). Each bag (5, 45) has storage pockets (10) in which reserve samples of the blood in the bag (5, 45) can be kept.
