The device has a pivotable clamp arm which interacts with a tensioning bolt (3) and a striking spring and a holding pawl (17) which interacts with the tensioning bolt. The bolt can adopt a released position and a tensioned or firing-ready position. The striking spring is released by an electrically operated device without prior triggering of a round. The device contains a latching part (34) actuated by an electromagnet (30) and a telescopic rod (40) with one end (41) engaging the clamp arm (4) or bolt and the other end (45) with a latching surface (46) which interacts with a latch (38) on the latching part. The latch interacts with the holding pawl after disengagement occurs.
