The appliance uses paint material, which changes often. It has a coating station, with a sprayer. This is selectively connected via a paint-carrying tube and valves, to a paint feeder or a rinsing tube. During a change of paint, a rinsing agent is fed through the tube to the spray head, and the rinsing agent/paint mixture is collected via a return tube. There are collection vessels (17.1-17.3) corresponding to the number of different paint materials. Each of these may be connected to the return tube (13), via a valve block (14).
