A former 10 for fitting to a post of a tooth on which a cap or crown is to be built up in situ comprises a body section 12 and a peripheral wing 26, the body having a bore (20 fig 3) therein for fitting thereon onto the post. A concave rim (19 fig 3) may surround the entrance to the bore. The former may be made of a light curable polymer for example urethane modified BIS-GMA. A method of forming a crown or cap using the claimed former is also described. |
