<p>A multiplexed electronic control system for a motor vehicle has a number of electronic control modules (10,12,14,16,18), the modules (10,12,14,16,18) being interconnected so that information may be transmitted from one module to another, a network monitor being provided in the control system to monitor correct functioning of at least some of the modules (10,12,14,16), the network monitor including means (30) associated with each module (10,12,14,16) for generating at regular time intervals, a unique module identifying message when the module (10,12,14,16) is functioning correctly and means (32) associated with each module (10,12,14,16) for monitoring the identifying message from at least one of said other modules (10,12,14,16). <IMAGE></p> |
