<p>A roller designed to support a moving textile band (3) has a periphery built up of axially spaced tubular sleeves (6) with internal end flanges (7) by which adjacent sleeves are secured together. Each pair of mating flanges (7) carries the inner race (21) of a rotary bearing (18), whose outer, stationary race (24) is supported by a flat plate (33) which extends radially inwards between the adjacent ends of corresponding sleeves (6) in a region circumferentially spaced from the part of the roller periphery encompassed by band (3).</p> |
