<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fowls, etc., from building nests in a pole switch attached to the upper part of a mast and causing an accident in power distribution lines. SOLUTION: This structure for preventing fowl injuries in a pole switch is obtained by forming an installing metallic fixture 11, having a nearly portal side shape and provided with slots 12 and 12 for inserting and passing two J-bolts 5 and 5 at the top thereof, connecting and fixing shielding plates 14L and 14R having respective lower edges along slopes (1d) and (1c) of the switch body 1 and tips of lengths reaching to respective arresters 9 attached to both left and right ends of the switch body 1 along slopes (1d) and (1e) of the switch body 1 to side pieces (11b) and (11e) extendedly installed at both left and right ends of the installing metallic fixture 11 so as to shield shielding plates 14L' and 14R' of nearly the same shape as that of the shielding plates 14L and 14R through a connecting installing metallic fixture to the sides of the shielding plates 14L and 14R in a state dividing the slopes (1d) and (1e) in the width direction, inserting and passing the two J-bolts 5 and 5 through the slots of the installing metallic fixture 11, tightening the bolts with nuts, sandwiching a sandwiching part installed in the connecting metallic fixture and hook parts formed in fixed metallic fixtures with arms 8 for installing the arresters attached to the switch body 1, installing the arresters and thereby preventing the fowls from building nests between the switch body 1 and the respective arresters 9.</p> |
