PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength, electrostatic charge potential characteristics, photosensitivity characteristics, and environmental resistance by incorporating a specific binder material into at least surface region on the surface side provided with a carrier transfer layer, constituting the carrier transfer layer of plural layers, and forming the constituting layers of at least the extreme surface layer of the plural constituting layers by dip coating. CONSTITUTION:A carrier generating layer 2 and the carrier transfer layer 3 are successively laminated on a conductive base 1. A binder material which has 1.50X10<-10> (cc(STP)cm/cm<2>scmHg) and below coefft. of gas permeation with oxygen when the thickness of the binder material is 15mum is incorporated into at least the surface region on the surface side provided with the carrier transfer layer 3. In addition, the carrier transfer layer 3 is constituted of the plural layers 3A, 3B and the constituting layer 3B of at least the extreme sur face of these plural constituting layers 3A, 3B is formed by dip coating. The mechanical strength, electrostatic charge potential characteristics, photosensitivi ty characteristics, and environmental resistance are improved in this way. |
