NEW MATERIAL:The antibiotic substance R106 expressed by formula [R is methyl or ethyl; X1 is (Me)Phe (Me is methyl), etc.; X2 is Val, Leu, etc.; X3 is (Me)Val; X4 is beta-HOMeVal, (Me)Val, beta-MeAsp, beta-HOMePhe, MePhe, etc.]. USE:A remedy for mycotic infectious diseases having high activity and low toxicity. PREPARATION:The objective antibiotic substance R106 of formula can be produced e.g. by (1) culturing a microbial strain belonging to genus Aureobasidium and capable of producing the antibiotic substance R106 [e.g. Aureobasidium pullulans (FERM BP-1938)] in a medium by shaking culture, (2) separating the culture liquid into supernatant and bacterial cells by centrifugal separation, (3) extracting the cells with acetone, (4) concentrating the extract under reduced pressure and (5) purifying by silica gel column chromatography and high- performance liquid chromatography. |
