Wheel drive for an electrically propelled vehicle

The drive uses an electric motor (4) with a stator (6) attached to the vehicle chassis (1) and a rotor (7) used for rotating the driven wheel (8), via a coupling (11) and a planetary gearing (12). The chassis is supported by a primary spring (3), with the degree of radial movement of the coupling being greater than the spring path of the latter. Pref. a wheel hub motor is used, with a required radial distance between the max. outer dia. of the motor and the min. inner dia. of the chassis which is greater than the spring path of the primary spring.
