IGNITION CHARGE COMPOSITION FOR ELECTRIC IGNITION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING CORROSION IN THE IGNITION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ignition charge compsn. for an electric ignition device which suppresses the corrosiveness to metals and allows the production of squibs by a simple method by incorporating specific components into the ignition charge. SOLUTION: This ignition charge compsn. for the electric ignition device contains the ignition charge and basic material. Diazodinitrophenol, metallic powder and/or alkaline salt of perchloric acid are used as the ignition charge. The metal hydroxide, metal oxide, metal peroxide and metal carbonate of alkaline (earth) metals are usable as the basic material and may be either water-soluble or non-water-soluble. The basic material is preferably added in the form of solid powder. The amt. of the basic material to be added is usually used in a range of 0.01 to 10% of the weight ratio to the ignition charge. The ignition charge compsn. is used by mixing the ignition charge with an oxidizing agent and the basic material by a dry process or wet process.
